I burnt up a little time in PhotoShop today, to bring you the attached. I just wanted to try and get down some visual ideas that were running through my head, and hopefully get a more pointed discussion going over features/interface.
The most important thing to note is the “periscope” at the top. Like iTunes, I envision only this part remaining when the app is minimized. It will give you the basics: The round “Unread Posts” button. Click this, and it might fill the periscope up with the next unread post. From there you can see the breadcrumb of where you’re at. If you want a different Forum, click on the top of the chain (in this instance, it’s “My Dream App Forum”), this will bring up a menu of all your forums to select from. If you were to click on “News”, the menu would offer you all that forums sub-categories. If you clicked on “And Then There Were None”, the menu would show you all the Opening Posts under “News”.
I’m still working out the Drawer… so that is quite unfinished.
I thought a bookmark like device might make sense, automatically marking where you last left off. Clicking from the toolbar, would snap you back to that point.
