Round 1

A certain subset of users love little apps that do this kind of housekeeping, keeping things clean and organized. (And other users just don’t care and use Spotlight to find things.) The trick is to make the rules very flexible and find a way to get animations and eye candy in there — it needs to wow people not just in what it does but in how it does it. (Virtual robots, perhaps.)

This is another one of those apps that I think we already have solutions for, such as Hazel or Chaos Antidote. I realize that the ambition behind SweepIt is greater than what some of the current applications out there provide, but every app must reach version 1.0 before 2.0. (duh). So what I’m trying to say (in a failed zen-like way) is maybe this dream app already exists and if you want to see it do more, then just ask the developer to do it. For the most part, we (developers) don’t bite!

Not a bad idea, but the only people I know who are this organized are programmers and crazy people. I wouldn’t want to try to sell to either group.
