Michael Wuerthele
Mike is a technology consultant in Virginia. Blame for his love of Apple gear lies squarely on his parent’s shoulders and the Apple II they bought him in the late seventies. Ever since, he’s pushed Macintosh and other Apple technology on the unsuspecting masses professionally for 20 years, ever since he first used a Mac Plus with external hard drive while employed as an Apple II salesperson in Western Massachusetts. In his 36-odd years of life, he’s been a radio disk-jockey, an Apple salesperson, enlisted in the US Navy submarine fleet, and returned to supporting Apple technology. Sometimes, you don’t fall far from the tree.
His recent projects have included an xGrid cluster made of surplus university beige G3 computers, a media server machine with 2 terabytes of storage jammed into a quicksilver G4, and convincing several clients that even following the intel shift, that Apple technologies were still the way to go.
Chatboard’s idea was born while recieving gardening photos from a buddy in Wisconsin. Since everyone in chat had to see the pictures, wouldn’t it make more sense if there was a common space for all the chat participants to see these pictures, with an easy GUI for all to fully enjoy the experience, no matter the technical savvy? For the professional user with multiple locations, it’s groupware for the masses- an elegant Macintosh way to quickly share ideas.
