Defining the UI Experience of Ground Control
I have to admit, at first glance, this app idea is probably one of the least likely to really take advantage of Core Animation features in OS X 10.5 of all the 24 finalists (at least the ones announced so far). To overcome that deficiency, I wanted to try to make this app at least look extremely cool in the UI. As I built the mockups, I became increasingly aware that God is in the details and this app will have to really nail the details in order to be a Killer App.
In this post, I am going to attempt lay out what I envisioned as the workings of Ground Control and how the user interacts with it. This is the post I will be posting the ongoing mockups and hope to focus on answering any of the user issues you guys (and gals) might bring up.
