My Dream App

Welcome to My Dream App!

The event where 24 finalists compete for a chance to have their dream app made into reality.

First time? Check out what this contest is about and create an account for free. If you are already a member, please login to remove this message. Thanks!

Thanks to today’s sponsors: Pzizz, the critically acclaimed nap enhancer and creativity booster, Candybar, the excellent, juicy iconset tool, EarthDesk, the Earth-starring dynamic desktop, Cha-Ching, the personal finance manager with style, Insanely Great Tees, the upcoming mecca for Mac-using t-shirt wearers, and macZOT!, for daily deals on Mac software.

Well, it’s been two months of an insane ride, and we’re finally ready to annouce the My Dream App contest winners!

Tensions ran high, and by the end, even though we had far more voters this round than any before (nearly 14,000), things were much closer than anyone anticipated.

We know exactly how important this is to everyone involved, so we made absolutely sure that the results are fair. (Wouldn’t want a winnner take a spot away based on fraudulent votes.) Unfortunately, we found a couple of fraud attempts which we needed to neutralize, and they were enough to swing the finalists.

Remaining 6

And now, without further ado, our runner-ups, and winners of a sparkly new Mac mini:

Mac miniThird runner up: Dan Lundmark, Blossom, with 3868 votes (11.32%)
Second runner up: Richard Whitelock, Whistler, with 5401 votes (15.81%)
First runner up: Kevin Capizzi, Hijack, with 6104 votes (17.86%)

And the winners! These apps have fought their way through five grueling rounds of eliminations and the public has voted them the most compelling, most interesting, and most wanted.

Each of our winners will receive a MacBook and 15% royalties on their applications.
